Tropical Sangria

Tropical Sangria

Course Drinks

Ingredients

  • Equipment Needed: Large pitcher stirring spoon, cutting board, and knife

Instructions

  • Prepare the Fruits:
  • Wash and chop your tropical fruits into bite-sized pieces. A mix of pineapple, mango, and strawberries adds great color and flavor.
  • Mix the Base:
  • In a large pitcher, combine the white wine, tropical fruit juice, and brandy or rum (if using). Stir gently to mix the ingredients well.
  • Add the Fruits:
  • Gently add the chopped tropical fruits into the pitcher. Stir lightly to combine without bruising the fruits.
  • Chill:
  • Allow the sangria to sit in the refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours. This will help the flavors meld together beautifully. You can prepare it a day ahead for an even richer taste!
  • Serve:
  • Just before serving, add the soda water or lemon-lime soda for a fizzy touch. If you prefer it less fizzy, add it to each glass as you pour.
  • Garnish and Enjoy:
  • Pour the Tropical Sangria over ice-filled glasses, garnish with fresh mint leaves, and enjoy the refreshing flavors!
  • Variations
  • Red Sangria: Substitute white wine for a fruity red wine like Merlot or Tempranillo and use darker fruits like cherries, blackberries, and plums.
  • Non-Alcoholic: Replace wine with sparkling grape juice and skip the brandy for a delightful mocktail.
  • Spicy Twist: Add a slice of jalapeƱo or a splash of ginger beer for a spicy kick.
