- 1 tsp Agave nectar or simple syrup
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1 dash Orange bitters
- Ice cubes

Method
Chill Your Glass: Start by chilling your Old-Fashioned glass. You can do this by filling it with ice water while you prepare the drink.
Mix Ingredients: In a mixing glass, combine the mezcal, Añejo tequila, agave nectar, Angostura bitters, and orange bitters.
Add Ice: Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds until well chilled and diluted.
Prepare the Glass: Empty the ice water from your chilled Old-Fashioned glass.
Strain: Using a jigger, strain the mixture into the prepared glass over a large ice cube or a few smaller ones.
Garnish: Express the oils from an orange twist over the drink, then place the twist in the glass for garnish.
Enjoy!: Sip and savor the flavors!
Variations
For a Sweeter Version: Increase the agave nectar to 1.5 teaspoons.
Smokier Flavor: Use a mezcal with a stronger smoke profile for a more pronounced flavor.
Fruit-Forward Twist: Add a splash of fresh grapefruit juice for a citrusy kick.
Tips and Substitutions
Dietary Needs: For a sugar-free option, use a sugar-free agave syrup or simply omit it altogether for a drier taste.
Make It Vegan: The original ingredients are already vegan, but check that your bitters don't contain any animal-derived flavorings.
Ingredient Quality: Using high-quality mezcal and tequila will significantly elevate the drink’s taste.
