Equipment

  • Equipment Needed: Cocktail shaker, strainer, measuring jigger, glasses, muddler (optional)

Ingredients

  • For the Cocktail:
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries plus extra for garnish
  • 1/2 cup pomegranate juice unsweetened
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 1/2 ounces vodka or gin for a non-alcoholic version, skip this
  • 1/2 cup club soda or sparkling water
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional Garnishes:
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • Pomegranate seeds
  • Lime wedges

Instructions

  • Prepare the Blueberries:
  • In a cocktail shaker, add the fresh blueberries. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently mash them. This will release their juices and enhance the flavor of your drink.
  • Mix the Ingredients:
  • Add the pomegranate juice, lime juice, and vodka (if using) to the shaker with the muddled blueberries.
  • Shake it Up:
  • Fill the shaker with ice cubes, secure the lid, and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds. You want to mix everything well and chill the drink.
  • Strain and Serve:
  • Using a strainer, pour the mixture into two glasses filled with ice.
  • Add Fizz:
  • Top each glass with club soda or sparkling water for that refreshing fizz.
  • Garnish:
  • Add a few whole blueberries, a sprig of mint, and pomegranate seeds for a beautiful presentation.
  • Enjoy:
  • Stir gently before sipping, and enjoy the vibrant flavors of the Blueberry Pomegranate Fizz!
  • Variations
  • Non-Alcoholic Version: Simply omit the vodka or gin and add more club soda or a splash of ginger ale for sweetness.
  • Fruity Twist: Substitute blueberries with raspberries or strawberries for a different flavor profile.
  • Herbal Infusion: Add a few sprigs of fresh basil or mint to the shaker before muddling the blueberries for an aromatic touch.
